Awesomelist.
These past few days (starting from last Thursday) have been glorious because of the following:
1. Missing Kissinger by Etgar Keret. Five dollars for riveting prose.
2. The MOE Excel Fest. Made for light and lulling conversation that crossed into simple happinesses. Rebuilt friendships I thought were lost, watched a nightsky at 3 in the afternoon, and shared amusing encounters with Jesslyn ("It's alright, we'll get Mom to get it for us later." :D) It was a welcome break from the drear and hubbub of school, and in pleasant, lovely company.
3. Teachers. I catch glimpses of what lies on -the other side-. Namely Ms Leong's spectacular winning streak, Ms Lin's fussy stubborness ("I want the mango ice-cream." "They only had chocolate." "But I want mangoooo."), and Ms Chow's sneaky squealy side ("Don't fool us, we know they are togetharrrr.").
4. Meducation rehearsal #01. Hilarity ensues, and with gusto.
5. Spontaneous decision to a night out, thereby wasting a session of Learning Point but having one of the most lovely outings in a long while, movie-less, erotic-poetry-filled and all.
6. Dance concert duty. Dirty-joke sparring and programme-selling eventually faded away into a soft, breezy night. We were interrupted (and not unpleasantly) only by fireworks, each one a glorious whistle and bang of colour and light. After a scandalous discussion or two with Ms Chow and light conversation with Mrs Hee, we snuck in and enjoyed half a concert of dancing. Even at the end, as the night wound down into quiet, the breeze was still a lilting companion by the bus stop, a wisp by my cheek while the headlights rushed by.
7. Hana Kimi. This, and Ikuta Toma, speak entirely for themselves, albeit with a lot of swooning.
8. Late night conversations and poetry. This speaks quietly - different with each and every person I've shared an early morning or deep night with.
9. Catching on the field with Jing, Chuch, Angie and Ashley. Childhood days under a glorious blue sky and the grass by my ankles and the mynahs rising up and away. Later our faces were flushed with laughter and happy exhaustion, and when they crowned me Julius Caesar with all those weeds, I felt like a king.
10. People. Yes, you and you and you. It's okay if you don't remember or if I don't remember or if we were both in limbo and didn't realize how glorious it all was, but thank you. I could never be more grateful for anything else but you. (:
