Needs to let this out somewhere.
OH MY GOODNESS SCRAP TEACHER IS KILLING ME WITH EVERY MINUTE OF MY WATCHING IT BECAUSE YUTO BEING PUSHED AROUND IS THE SADDEST SWEETEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN AND IT HURTS MY HEAD AND HEART AND WHEN HE FIRST SMILED I NEARLY KEELED OVER BECAUSE HE IS SO SWEET AND EARNEST AND AMAZING, THE BEST PART IS THAT CHINEN DAIKI AND RYOSUKE (SRSLY THE YAMAJIMA OF IT ALL I WAS CHOKING) HAVE ONLY JUST APPEARED TO SAVE HIM AND CHINEN OFFERING HIS HANDKERCHIEF OH EM GEE I DIED I THINK I REALLY DIED AND THIS IS ONLY EPISODE ONE I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M GOING TO DO BECAUSE THESE BOYS KEEP AMAZING ME AND HONESTLY I THINK I'M JUST GOING TO CRAWL INTO A CORNER AND GO TO MY HAPPY PLACE WHICH IS WHERE THE SCRAP TEACHER IS.
It also awesome that the drama itself is far from droll (compared to its predecessor Sensei wa Erai) - it's surprisingly captivating (with just the right amount of humour and heartbreak) and I'm actually eager to see it develop further. It definitely helps that the cast is showing honestly good acting efforts, from the students to the teachers (even the bullies who TOTALLY KILL ME LAY OFF YUTO YOU BITCHES). I'm looking forward to this ride, and I'm sure as hell going to enjoy it.

{Edit: Oh goodness, it just occurred to me that Sugi-Sensei looks terribly like Mr Ang from certain angles, and that is like D: I don't know what to think.
{Post Episode Comments:
I finally got to the end of the episode (after several pauses and lots of flailing - I haven't talked to or shouted at my computer like this for a long time), and I am now officially hooked. Someone needs to upload the rest of the subs and fast.
The whole thing's developing relatively nicely for a first episode - the time frame that they went through was pretty long, and I was quite surprised that they'd have wanted to throw several months into just one episode, but those directors have their reasons.
Sugi-sensei is definitely the overenthusiastic teacher - a bit scary of course and slightly stereotypical at first, but I have a feeling he's going to grow on me in the end. I particularly adored Yuko (who is, on a side note, insanely pretty and not in the brainless stereotypical Japanese woman way) and arm-warmer Teacher (whose name escapes me now) though, because they're just the nice balance of I-pretend-not-to-care-but-really-I'm-secretly-awesome-and-cannot-be-apathetic-in-the-end, albeit in different ways. Definitely likeable characters.
Yuto - oh Yuto, you break my heart. The whole bullying issue was just so heartbreaking because it was insanely convincing, and he was so grudgingly accepting of it I just wanted to cry throughout the whole thing. As Kusaka he's thankfully less ditzy (if he is at all) in this than in Sensei wa Erai and it makes me want to hug him even more because he's more believable and completely trusting and honest and earnest and all that, it just kills me. He had good and bad acting moments (although I practically squealed when his voice cracked at one point because AIYAH SO CUTE) and I think he's still getting into it I guess. Favoritest parts were when he just began to smile - I thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd seen all day.
Yamada, Chinen and Daiki - I am so tempted to call you guys the Ryo-Trio because technically it was Ryosuke the obvious leader, trailed after by Chinen and Daiki. They're probably capitalizing on Yamada's cool image, and I definitely agree that he nailed the role because there were just ~so~ many times I nearly passed out when he delivered a killer comeback in that smooth (and sexy as hell) voice of his and did just that tilt of the head and with his piercing eyes and damn. I loved Chinen and Daiki too - Chinen because he is still so adorable even with this brand new cool image and Daiki because he is secretly hilarious in what he does (HELMET OH GAWD). What I had a problem with was, well, the whole Ryo-Trio thing. You see Yamada say something, and Chinen and Daiki echo it. It's a bit of a waste really because I'm sure the other two are amazing, it's just that they don't have much of a chance to show off their chops. I love Yama-chan and all, but I hope they don't push it and make it totally Yamada-centric.
Also, somebody needs to give Yuto a cool role. I'm generally rah at him being cast as all these always-second-best characters because I'm pretty sure he can pull off the strong silent role as well. Or maybe let him be all out adorable like Toma as Nakatsu - I'd like to see that. Still, it's only the first episode so I'm hoping like crazy that they'll all get developed well.
That all said, I'm not sure if I can handle watching too much of Scrap at one go because I have a feeling that my heart will stop periodically throughout each episode at one thing or another. Either way, if I did die or anything, I'd have no regrets having this as the last thing on my screen. <3
